Google is testing a new “daily listening” feature that automatically generates a podcast based on your discovery flow. The company has confirmed in Techcrunch that Daily Listening is a personalized audio experience fueled by AI which is designed to help you stay up to date on the subjects that are important to you.
The functionality is currently taking place on the Google application on Android and iOS and will be open to American users who have opted for the experience of the company’s research laboratories.
With Daily listens, you will get an episode of Podcast up to five minutes which gives you an overview of the stories and subjects that interest you. The podcast also gives you links to related stories on which you can click to find out more about the subjects.
Daily listens is rooted in Discover, so the subjects you follow during research and discovery in the Google app will help you get a more personalized audio experience, says Google.
Google also notes that daily listening is a bit like Audio preview of notebooklm Functionality, which generates a podcast with AI virtual hosts according to the information you have shared with the application, such as course readings or memories. With daily listening, you get a quick overview of things to know according to your personal interests.
If you have access to the functionality, you will see a new “daily listening” section on your home screen when you open the Google application. The card will display a reading button that shows you the duration of the podcast, and from there you can enter the audio experience.
Once you have opened the feature, you can start listening to the podcast alongside a wheel -written transcription. You can scroll down to see the “related stories” which offer a deeper overview of the subjects that interest you.
