Meta Platforms has announced significant improvements to her chatbot AI, Meta AI, which now uses Instagram and Facebook user data to provide more personalized answers.
This new approach aims to offer users a more personalized experience, drawing account details such as the location and content visualized on Instagram to refine its recommendations and interactions.
The update includes a “memory boost” feature, allowing Meta IA to remember the preferences of users of previous conversations, thus guaranteeing more relevant responses. For example, if a user mentions a food preference or an interest in a specific subject, Meta IA integrates this information in future interactions.
However, this decision sparked discussions on confidentiality, as users of the United States and Canada cannot withdraw from this data sharing integration on Meta platforms. Critics argue that this could lead to confidentiality problems, despite META insurance that users can control and delete memories stored at any time.
Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, underlined the potential of these features by sharing personal anecdotes where Meta Ai used data recalled to create personalized bedtime stories for her children. Although this personalization is currently taking place in the United States and Canada, Meta has not yet announced its intention to extend this functionality worldwide.
