The rapid progress of AI, IT and human-machine interaction are the main engines on the list of this year’s 10 technologies that Gartner thinks that managers should watch close in 2025.
Gene Alvarez, distinguished vice-president analyst of Gartner, has revealed a list of technological trends likely to disturb the next two to 10 years in the computer / XPO symposium in Australia on September 10. Based on research and analyzes, he said that the list only included technologies and trends.
1. Transform AI into decision -making agents
Gartner expects the agency AI to emerge in the next two to three years – with capacities that go beyond tasks such as the summary of information to take measures on behalf of individuals. Rather than presenting options to users, they will be able to choose the optimal option for the user if authorization.
2. Technological platforms to govern AI
Presented by concerns such as the model, platforms and AI governance tools are developed to establish confidence by transparency and ethics in models. Alvarez explained that this will allow features such as the explanation of the responses generated by the AI and prevent harmful outings.

3. Tools defending against disinformation
The generative AI could allow bad actors to create synthetic media, such as false videos, voices and images that pretend to be people or organizations. Disinformation safety tools will help organizations Identify Deepfakes or detect synthetic media by assessing the truth and following the spread of disinformation.
4. Passing to post-auntum cryptography
Post-quantum cryptography standards have recently been published. According to Gartner, post-quantum cryptography will become a concern in just two to three years. IT leaders will soon have to replace each part or encryption with a post-quantum algorithm unbreakable by classic or quantum computer.
5. Ambient wireless labels and sensors
The drop in the cost of wireless labels and sensors, which can follow and monitor stocks, the conditions of the supply chain or physical assets, will soon allow organizations to access and respond to data from their operations which were previously “in the shade”, said Alvarez.
6. Exploration of energy -efficient computer science
Organizations could soon start to move algorithms with high energy intensity to green cloud suppliers, to rewrite algorithms to consume less energy, or more closely monitor energy consumption for generative AI. Additional technologies such as optical, neuromorphic and DNA storage could create large improvements in efficiency.

7. Become hybrid with future computer science
Organizations should adopt a hybrid computer approach in the future. Alvarez said they are likely to integrate and orchestrate several different calculation paradigms and technologies, including processors, GPUs, edges, quantum computer science, optical IT and information storage in DNA.
8. Improve reality with space computer science
Space computer science brings together physical and digital kingdoms in a single unified 3D space via aircraft such as augmented reality headsets. Alvarez has said that devices and applications are being developed that could support contextualization just in time for decision -making in places like the manufacturing workshop.
9. Multiple robots
Although it will take between three and ten years, polyfunctional robots which can fulfill several functions, rather than being limited to a single task, should be part of daily life. By 2030, Alvarez said that 80% of humans could engage daily with smart polyfunctional robots.
10. Neurological improvement technologies
The development of technologies that can read and improve brain functions could be used in environments, including health establishments to restore senses such as sight or hearing – however, says Gartner, this will not happen for at least 10 years. The devices range from simple laptops such as headphones or headbands to integrated complex complex interfaces.
Ignore technological trends at your own risk, warns Gartner
IT leaders should decide on their own on which technologies currently act, which to be monitored and that to ignore, said Alvarez. However, he urged caution to those who choose to ignore Gartner’s strategic technological trends, saying: “If you turn your back on a wave, it could bring you down.”
