US Manufacturing Investments in Big Tech increase in the midst of reshaping efforts
Apple has announced an investment of $ 500 billion in the United States over the next four years, aimed at strengthening the manufacturing, innovation and the creation of national jobs. The main initiatives include the construction of a 250,000 square feet manufacturing plant in Houston, Texas. Disforced to open in 2026, the new installation will produce servers for Apple Intelligence. To support the advanced manufacturing and the development of skills at the national level, Apple will double its advanced American advanced manufacturing fund at $ 10 billion. In addition, Apple plans to establish a Michigan manufacturing academy to help small and medium -sized enterprises to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligent manufacturing techniques. All in all, these initiatives should create around 20,000 new jobs, mainly in the research and development sectors, focusing on areas such as silicon engineering, software development and AI.1 Appleās commitment reflects a broader trend among technology giants to reshape and improve their American manufacturing capacities, contributing to an increase in construction and infrastructure activity across the country.
Artificial intelligence
The Gen AI application stroke heats up and startup assessments continued to skyrocket
To compete with popular AI chatbots such as Openai and Anthropic Chatpt, Meta intends to launch the Meta AI application in T2 2025, marking an important step with the company’s goal to become the IA industry leader by the end of the year. Currently integrated into Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp with 700 million monthly users, Meta Ai will join the company’s autonomous applications and may include a paid subscription level like Chatgpt. This decision follows competitors such as Google Gemini and applications dedicated to the release of XAI from Elon Musk. Chatgpt remains the most downloaded AI application on a global scale.2 In its recent finance round, Anthropic raised $ 3.5 billion to an evaluation of $ 61.5 billion, against its $ 18.5 billion assessment in February 2024.3 The startup plans to use funding to extend its IT capacity, deepen its research and accelerate its global expansion. This news follows Anthropic reaching the annualized revenue of $ 1 billion in December 2024 – an increase of ten times on the other (annual shift).4
Defense technology
European Union nations (EU) accelerate defense expenses
In a major defense overhaul in the context of efforts to strengthen European security, the United Kingdom (United Kingdom) creates a new defense unit to supervise 20 billion pounds Sterling (25 billion dollars) in military spending. The United Kingdom is under pressure to increase defense expenses, Prime Minister Keir Starmer suggesting a 2.5% increase in GDP.5 Member countries of the Northern Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have undertaken to spend objectives much greater than 3% of GDP to mitigate the growing conflicts of non-nato members and to reduce their dependence in the United States. President Trump urged NATO members to spend 5% of GDP for Defense, against the current target of 2% and more than any member of NATO who is currently spending.6 We believe that the increase in EU defense spending should help to partially compensate for American defense spending and that it could stimulate innovation and the purchase of more efficient defense technology software solutions.
Data centers and digital infrastructure
The Boom stretches the investments and the expansion of the record data center
In one of the largest construction loans for data centers in history, a developer of the UTAH data center has obtained funding of $ 2 billion + for a massive installation of 100 acres, highlighting the growing demand for facilities that support AI and its workloads with high energy intensity. The data center will consume 175 megawatts of continuous power, enough to support 175,000 American houses. This agreement marks the second 2 billion dollars + funding of 2025. Previously, the loans of the data center have rarely exceeded $ 1 billion, but lenders now support larger projects due to the exponential growth of the AI. With AI applications requiring advanced fleas and significant power, developers secure the main tenants before innovating, moving away from speculative constructions. At the end of 2024, 6.3 gigawatts of the capacity of the data center were under construction on the eight main American markets, more than double that of 2023. The constraints of space and power in traditional centers such as North Virginia and Chicago lead to expansion in new regions, such as Louisiana and South Carolina, where large technological companies invest billion.7
Fintech
Private Fintech evaluations and payments treatment are resilient
The Stripe payment processor has collected an assessment of $ 91.5 billion in its last tender offer, a significant rebound in its valuation of $ 50 billion in 2023 and near its peak of $ 95 billion in 2021. The valuation highlights the resilience of the proven platforms of fintech in the middle of the market for market realistic customers. An increase in demand from AI companies has contributed to Stripe’s profitability over the past two years. Hundreds of AI startups use Stripe’s payment infrastructure, which in 2024 resulted in a 40% increase in business treated payments, totaling 1.4 billion of dollars.8 The main supplier of payment networks, Zelle, also declared more than 1 billion of dollars in volumes in 2024. The company user base climbed 12% in annual shift to 151 million accounts and a total of dollars sent to the platform increased by 27% in annual shift, marking the best year of a year of history for a payment service provider. This trend suggests that well -placed fintech companies can even prosper in a case of economic uncertainty.9
Robotics and artificial intelligence
Robotaxis has taken more
Waymo, the subsidiary of autonomous alphabet vehicles, has taken an important step by doubling its robotaxes in weekly Robotaxi from August 2024 to more than 200,000 in February 2025. Going up two years, it is about twenty-vically weekly journeys. The Waymo autonomous system now leads more than a million miles per week, this number should increase in 2025 after the launch by the Robotaxi Commercial Services company in Austin in partnership with Uber.10 Austin follows Phoenix as the second American city where Waymo Robotaxis is available in the Uber application. Waymo is also available in other cities, including Los Angeles and San Francisco, via the company’s carpooling service, called Waymo One.11 The alliance with Uber means a pivot change in the transport landscape, where traditional carpooling platforms are increasingly incorporating autonomous technologies. It also highlights the growing acceptance of autonomous vehicle technology among the public.
