SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) — Artificial intelligence is not just for tech giants; it’s for everyone. That’s the message from University of Illinois alumnus Vilas Dhar, who has been touring high schools, farm bureaus, libraries, and other locations across Illinois to demonstrate the practical uses of AI in various fields.
Vilas Dhar, President of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, emphasized the importance of integrating AI into everyday problems faced by American workers, farmers, and students.
“What we need to do is bring it closer to problems that you and I face,” said Dhar. “The problems of American workers, American farmers, and American students. And we need those experiences to inform the tech that we’re building. What that means is bringing it out of places like Silicon Valley and into places like Central Illinois.”
Dhar hopes to continue his educational tours in Illinois for years to come, aiming to make AI accessible and beneficial to all.
