Artificial intelligence (AI), cars technology and new entertainment gadgets for the home will be the main themes exposed during one of the biggest annual events on the technological calendar.
The CET trade fair opens in Las Vegas on Tuesday, where thousands of companies ranging from giants such as Samsung, LG and Sony, to newly formed start-ups, will reveal new products and ideas at around 100,000 participants.
The event is often used not only to announce new consumption devices and services, but also to introduce conceptions of concepts and ideas that offer an early overview of the place where the technological sector is heading in the years to come.
The expert in the Industry Leo Gebbie, of the CCS Insight analyst company, said that he expects the accent put by the technological sector on AI continues this year, But warned of the “fatigue of AI” as technology becomes an expected point of discussion rather than a “really convincing story”.
“These has pivoted management in recent years and has become more and more a show focused on categories such as home entertainment and automotive segment – there is a huge amount of floor space dedicated to these two areas”, he said.
“However, we reach a point where AI is now just a subject of discussion expected rather than a real major story which is a broad theme but with few significant announcements. We have been saying for some time that fatigue of the ‘Ia’ “is a risk and that it is more difficult than ever for companies to deliver a really convincing story around AI.
“It is likely that there will be a stronger accent on the use of AI to tell particular categories. For example, Smart Home is a segment that needs a new life that has been breathing there for some time Now.
Gebbie said he was expecting to see the range of strange gadgets that are traditional for the Convention.
“Smartphones tend to present much to the show, and portable devices are also a fairly minor category these days,” he said.
“That said, we expect some of the usual” strange and wonderful “new products to make the headlines, but once again, will go fairly quickly.”
Last year, LG and Samsung were among the companies to show conceptual versions of transparent television screens, while robots are also often a common show during the event.
A colleague expert in industry and analyst Paolo Pescatore, founder of PP Foresight, also stressed how the automotive technology has become in the foreground in recent years.
“All that is infotainment, smarter modes of transport, more AI, security and of course the EV load. All roads lead to autonomous driving with the AI generation playing a key role. “
He added that the show also offered the possibility for individual nations to plead in favor of their national technology sectors.
“Specific verticals, including physical form and well-being, and sports technology also, all part of the portable technology which itself will be well represented, are fertile zones, the areas that develop around the IA and faster tokens.
“The event represents an opportunity for countries to demonstrate their technological leadership.
“France generally stands out as one of the most new and most represented. Others will seek to intensify and put itself on the world card with niche products and inevitably fueled by AI.”
