AI-powered content creation platform Phot.AI has secured $2.7 million in a seed funding round led by Info Edge Ventures. The round also saw participation from Together Fund, AC Ventures, and over 50 angel investors, including Shiprocket’s Saahil Goel and Akshay Ghulati, Aakash Anand of Bella Vita, Arjun Vaidya of V3 Ventures, Bewakoof’s Prabhkiran Singh, Puneet Gupta and Anmol Jain of Astrotalk, Droom’s Sandeep Aggarwal, Vishesh Khurana and Raj Snehil Juneja of Tribe Capital, and Pawan Gupta of Fashinza.
The startup plans to use the fresh capital to expand its team, strengthen research and development (R&D) capabilities, and launch an AI-powered creative copilot.
Automating E-Commerce Visuals with AI
Founded in 2023 by Venus Dhuria, Aneesh Rayancha, and Akshit Raja, Phot.AI is revolutionizing e-commerce content creation by automating the process of generating product images, ad designs, and marketplace listings. Instead of relying on manual design or rigid templates, brands can leverage Phot.AI’s AI agents to create high-quality visuals tailored for platforms like Amazon, Shopify, and Meta Ads.
The platform, which already boasts 3 million signups globally, provides access to 25+ AI-powered photo editing tools and an integrated design studio.
Addressing Content Creation Challenges
Speaking about the platform’s capabilities, co-founder Venus Dhuria emphasized how Phot.AI simplifies content creation for e-commerce brands.
“Our AI-powered platform automates everything—from cataloguing and product photography to ad design—making content creation as seamless as ChatGPT but for ecommerce… If you’re running a campaign, you often need the same creative in multiple sizes and languages. A single design might have to be adapted into 15 to 20 different sizes and translated into five to seven languages, leading to hundreds of variations, which is time-consuming and costly,” Dhuria told Startup Story.
Currently, over 25 businesses are using Phot.AI’s APIs to automate workflows and enhance conversion rates. The platform currently offers a subscription at $10 per month, but the company plans to increase its pricing to $49 per month after the AI-powered creative copilot launch.
Growing Investor Interest in AI Startups
Phot.AI’s fundraise comes at a time when India’s AI ecosystem is witnessing exponential growth. With companies across sectors adopting AI-driven solutions, investors are showing increased interest in homegrown AI ventures.
Just a day before Phot.AI’s announcement, AI-driven SaaS startup Beacon.li secured $7 million in a Series A round led by Sorin Investments. Earlier this week, UptimeAI received an undisclosed investment from the venture arm of Switzerland-based ABB Motion, while FluxGen raised INR 28 Cr in its pre-Series A round led by IAN Alpha Fund to scale up its AI and IoT-powered water management solutions.
