(Bloomberg) – Apple Inc. fans have lined up in stores around the world for the new iPhone 16, upset the shoulders because the device’s signature functionality – a new series of AI tools – will not arrive until later.

The company has experienced important lines and waiting times in several major Apple retail stores in the world, indicating a potentially solid start for the product. Friday, the company presented the iPhone 16 range in nearly 60 countries, including the United States, China, India, Australia and South Korea.
The chief executive officer, Tim Cook, praised the crowds at the company’s site on the fifth avenue in New York alongside the head of Apple’s retail, Deirdre O’Brien. The store was equipped with lights to imitate the new brilliant interface of the Siri digital assistant. Other apple points of sale, notably in Los Angeles, Australia and China, had notable lines that collect pre -order phones or are unreservedly.
The device will not be installed with Apple Intelligence – the long -awaited IA software that the company has been boasting since June. This means that users will have to download software features over time because they become available in the coming weeks and months.
It put Apple in a delicate place. It already markets AI features a lot, but some consumers can be wary of buying new phones if they cannot take advantage of the advantages immediately.
Given the Fort Buzz Initial – even if it is partly motivated by the drawbacks of Apple who line up each year – the marketing tactics can work.
In terms of its appearance, the new iPhone is not a major jump from previous models. A tactile camera control button, which facilitates taking photos and videos, is the most notable change.
Despite this, Wall Street remains optimistic that Apple can accelerate growth during the very important holiday season. Analysts estimate that income will increase 8% during the December quarter – the best watch for this period since the end of the 2021 calendar.
The new range includes two standard models – the 16 and 16 Plus – as well as the high -end pro and pro max. Pre -orders of the devices started last week, before shipments to stores and customers underway on Friday.
The initial for sale units will execute the iOS 18 operating system, but Apple Intelligence will require a live update of the iOS 18.1 software, which is launched in October. Apple has equipped its retail stores with machines called “Presto” which will allow the company to load Apple Intelligence and other iOS updates in the future. This will allow Apple to skip the usual scenario where iPhones are sold with obsolete software.
Apple Intelligence was announced in June at the company’s global conference of developers and was available in a limited beta test for developers in recent weeks.
On Thursday, Apple published a public beta version of the software – a wider audience – although most customers do not access it as long as the functionality suite is published in its final form next month. Additional capacities will not be ready that later, part of a laminated launch that will extend next year.
When Titan technology introduced the iPhone 16 line, he said that the devices were the first to be built “from zero” for Apple Intelligence. But some iPhones last year – 15 pro and pro max – will also be able to support the functionality.
The appearance of new phones is little changed to the design of the iPhone 12 from 2020. But they have significant improvements in battery life and camera progress – beyond the new button. Prices start at $ 799 for the standard iPhone, up to $ 1,191 for Pro Max. Even with modest hardware updates, new phones could attract owners of much older models or switches from Android devices.
In recent years, consumers commanding phones in the Apple online store have experienced great shipping delays – a sign that the supply did not meet demand. This was less a problem this year, either because orders are slower, or Apple just has more phones.
The new orders of the ordinary models of the iPhone 16 will be delivered in early October, while the pro versions will arrive around the middle of the month.
Apple also unveiled the low-end airpods this month and updated watches. New headphones – nicknamed AirPods 4 – are available in versions of $ 129 and $ 179, with this last model, including noise cancellation. This feature had already been reserved for AirPods Pro, which cost $ 249.
Apple’s latest smart watches do not offer any major upgrade reason. The new 10 series has a larger display and a thinner design, but otherwise looks like the 9 series. The only change in the company with the high -end model, meanwhile, is a black color option. However, the products could attract customers who have older Apple watches or that are new to the category.

The iPhone, watches and airpods will not be the latest new Apple products of 2024. The company also plans to revision the Mac computer later this year.
Apple will bring its M4 processor focused on the iPad to laptops MacBook Pro and IMAC. He also prepares the most important overhaul of the Mac Mini in the history of two decades of the product, with a smaller design and new fleas.
