The Institute of Human and Social Sciences, in collaboration with Teraverse Inc., launched Buddhabot Plus to serve the kingdom of the Buddhist community of Bhutan. Developed in partnership with the Bhutan central monastery, Buddhabot Plus uses the latest version of Chatgpt (Chatgpt O1-Mini) to create a generative AI tool designed to initiate a significant Buddhist dialogue. It represents a unique fusion of advanced AI technology and spiritual practice.
Buddhabot Plus’s research team is led by Professor Seiji Kumagai and CEO Toshikazu Furuya, who have already drawn international attention to their previous versions of Buddhabot and AR related technologies. Despite a widespread interest, the team has so far retained a public release, awaiting official requests from the Buddhist authorities. The recent approval of the central monastery of Bhutan marks a significant step forward.
