Experts warn that Barbie’s trend using AI for personalization could affect confidentiality, culture and the environment due to high electricity consumption.

They also appreciate that they can personalize it more with their names, work and clothing choices. The result is a really unique customizable version of yourself that you can share with the world.
But this new Barbie trend forces experts urging users to be wary of the fear of lacking primordial concerns about the energy and use of AI data, the Bbc reported.
Climate impact
Although experts agree that generative AI can facilitate the safeguarding of trends, they also warn the effect of the excessive use of these tools on the environment. With more and more people who follow the trend and use of AI tools to generate similar images, the data centers used to feed it consume more and more electricity.
Professor Gina Neff by Queen Mary University London told BBC that Chatgpt “burns energy” and uses more electricity in one year than 117 countries.
“Chatgpt Barbie represents a triple threat to our private life, our culture and our planet. Although personalization can feel good, these systems put marks and characters in a mixer without responsibility for the emerging slope,” she said.
Jo Bromilow, director of Socials and influencers of the PR and the creative agency MSL UK, told BBC: “A cute and funny result is really worth it? If we really want to use AI correctly, we must define railings about how we conscientiously use it,” she said.
