In an interview with the South China Morning Post on Friday, Lee, a former google china chief, said that 01.AI was taking advantage of Deepseek’s popularity to sell IA solutions to business customers, especially in the financial, video and legal sectors.
“It becomes imperative for us to… kiss (deepseek) as our main bet,” said Lee. This “has become as clear as writing on the wall” after the high increase in the models of the Chinese CEO company after the end of January, he said.


Lee said that 01.AI’s experience in the development of LLM distinguished it, because only a dozen Chinese companies had similar capacities. 01.AI prioritized Deepseek, a decision that distinguishes the company from the competitors who promote internal models.
While many equipment manufacturers can easily offer plug-and-play solutions on site with full commercial functions, 01.AI of the advantage lies in its ability to refine Deepseek models for customers, according to Lee.
