The government of the government for the sciences has published the latest additions to its series of brief introductions to emerging technologies.
Subjects include neurotechnology, metamaterials, carbon management, fusion energy, the future of computer science, robotics and humanoids.
The chief scientific advisor of government, Professor Dame Angela McLean, said:
“These presentations the size of a bite can help you speed up with some of the most exciting emerging technologies of our time.
“We hope they will also arouse a conversation on what we will have to do for the United Kingdom to make the most of these technologies.
Introductions are part of the evaluation of the rapid technologies of the Office for Science and join the subjects previously discussed, in particular artificial intelligence, new batteries, digital twins, 4D impression, nucleic acid technologies and synthetic genomics.
