Do you hate calling a business to ask prices? A new Google feature can manage this for you.
A functionality called “Ask for Me” appeared in the category of AI experiments in Google Labs. Instead of calling a business yourself, you can let google AI do it for you, manage tasks as finding the best price and checking the availability of products.
Experimental phase
When you use ASK for me, a realistic sound AI will contact companies, compile the options and come back to you within 30 minutes. It works a bit like the duplex functionality of 2019, which would call a restaurant so that you reserve yourself.

The functionality is in an experimental phase, warns Google and is not available for all types of services. Google did not specify exactly the services for which it is available, but the images display only automatic maintenance and pricing requests for the Manicure Salon. The description indicates that it is for “local services such as” change of oil “or” manicure salons nearby “,” it is therefore possible that that is everything for the moment.
How to use Ask for me
Ask me work in the Chrome web browser For office or mobile. It is not yet completely open to the public, so you will have to go to the Application page for me on Google Labs To reach the waiting list.
In the example of images, Google shows how functionality works.
When you are looking for an eligible company, a “Ask me” button will appear. Press it and you will see the options to choose. The automotive service company shows choices such as tire rotation, filter replacement, tire balancing, oil variation and planned maintenance. The manicure show shows choices such as nail art, gel manicure, acrylic manicure, dip powder or Polish change.

Given the current robocalles these days, you must ask yourself if companies will take the time to speak to a robot, especially when the functionality is so new. Call screening is my favorite thing about the possession of a Google Pixel, and I always find that many people hesitate to talk to a computer.
