Hong Kong is an attractive regional center for continental Chinese Artificial Intelligence (AI) Start-ups looking for a bridgehead to develop in the markets abroad, according to business managers during a technology theme on Wednesday.
Cloudwalk Technology, an AI company based in Guangzhou which started in 2015 as A facial recognition software sellersought to establish an entity in Hong Kong to facilitate its trade development abroad, the co-founder and director Liu Jun declared on the sidelines of the region on the theme of the symposium “Greater Bay Area and Innovative Technology”.
He noted that the Greater Bay Area – who includes Hong Kong, Macao and nine continental cities – had an innovative atmosphere rivaling with Hangzhou, the eastern city that houses companies like In depth And ROBOTICS.
Hong Kong has offered companies in the Grande Baie with several advantages, including access to high -quality talents, global influence and innovation support policies, said Liu.


The Cloudwalk plan to establish a foot in Hong Kong reflects a broader trend in Chinese AI start-ups entering the city to collect funds, attract international talents and connect with global markets. Meanwhile, Hong Kong turns to AI as a means of upgrading its traditional sectors and improving the city’s development perspectives.
