The National Council of Mathematics Teachers argues the argument in its position of position on the use of artificial intelligence in the education of kindergarten in the 12th year that teachers, directors and district leaders must “remain up to date on current AI trends” to prepare students in the future. Many educators in mathematics suggest that AI already has the potential to serve as a teaching assistant, to work with children to develop skills and to release teachers to spend time showing the students how to meet more sophisticated mathematical challenges. But as AI tools are integrated into mathematical education, teachers and students will have to develop a good amount of skepticism as to the limits of AI tools – they have unique strengths and weaknesses.
