Multi-cloud AI strategies are revolutionizing how organizations approach secure, scalable, integrated AI solutions across complex technology landscapes. As businesses prioritize seamless connectivity and robust data access, industry leaders at Microsoft Ignite 2024 highlighted innovative approaches to simplify AI deployment and improve productivity.
According to the CUBE Research study, simplifying connectivity has become a key priority due to the growing need for consistent access to data and applications across multi-cloud environments. Rob Strechay And Bob Laliberté.
“We are starting to realize that the network is not limited to basic plumbing,” Laliberté said at a conference. analyst segment at Microsoft Ignite. “It’s necessary for these highly distributed environments and especially when you go into cloud and multi-cloud environments. This connectivity will be essential to ensure that all data gets where it needs to go and that users can access the information they need.
Strechay and Laliberte spoke with leading technology and cloud computing innovators at Microsoft Ignite 2024during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s live streaming studio. Discussions focused on advances in AI simplification, strategies for enabling teams to leverage AI independently, and upskilling initiatives designed to improve productivity and adoption. Here are three key insights you may have missed in theCUBE’s coverage:
1. Multi-cloud AI strategies promote trust and resilience in hybrid cloud landscapes.
As AI and hybrid cloud infrastructures evolve, multi-cloud AI strategies remain a top priority for businesses navigating complex multi-cloud environments. Dell Technologies Inc. highlighted zero trust security measures with its APEX Protection Services for Microsoft Azure, integrating data immutability, encryption and multi-factor authentication to protect customer data. These measures provide resilience as well as robust protection, according to Varun Chhabra (photo), senior vice president of product marketing at Dell.
“It provides enterprise-grade protection for customers and their data, but it emphasizes resiliency,” he said. said to the CUBE during the event. “With APEX Protection Services from Microsoft Azure, customers benefit from secure storage. It incorporates multiple layers of zero trust security, data immutability, encryption, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access controls.
Aviatrix Systems Inc. contributes to multi-cloud AI strategies by strengthen security measures suitable for AI workflows, according to Chris McHenrysenior vice president of product marketing at Aviatrix. The company provides its customers with streamlined operations and robust security for AI applications across multi-cloud landscapes through integrations with Microsoft Security Copilot and Secure Service Edge.
“Azure will change the way applications access the Internet,” McHenry said during the event. “Organizations are going to have to make a choice about how they implement Internet access. They call this the default output change. We think we have one of the best options out there.

2. Strategic partnerships fuel hybrid cloud innovation to support AI workloads across diverse industries.
Partnerships between cloud providers and technology leaders are opening new possibilities for AI-driven hybrid cloud infrastructures. Nutanix Inc. has partnered with Microsoft Azure to create a hybrid AI infrastructure that enables seamless operation across on-premises and cloud environments. This partnership provides flexibility to industries such as healthcare and finance by supporting multi-cloud AI strategies that operate efficiently from edge locations to virtual private data centers, according to Lee Caswellsenior vice president of product and solutions marketing at Nutanix.
“Apps are now the competitive currency,” he said. during the event. “This is part of the Nutanix Enterprise AI solution. With this you get your choice of fully certified (large language models) up to compatible servers (graphics processing unit) from all our major partners. Now you can run it across the entire hybrid experience, from the edge to the virtual private data center, and then connect it to Microsoft Azure.
Likewise, Hitachi Vantara LLC strengthens its collaboration with Microsoft to provide an AI-ready platform for hybrid cloud environments, according to Robert Robersonvice president of hyperscalers and cloud at Hitachi Vantara. Hitachi Unified Compute Platform for Azure Stack HCI enhances cloud management capabilities while supporting AI application development in regulated industries. This effort aims to balance on-premises performance with cloud scalability.
“AI is a very personalized type of workload, specific to the business our customers are in,” Roberson said during the event. “To help us with this, we’ve partnered with our sister company, Hitachi Solutions… one of Microsoft’s leading services companies that helps build many of the applications and products you see today on Azure. We provide the underlying data structure, the storage capacity, the computation (and) a lot of the weight that the data brings.

3. Innovative technologies and multi-cloud strategies are redefining the scalability and effectiveness of enterprise AI.
Emerging technologies, such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence and next-generation networks, are transforming business operations, according to CUBE’s Strechay and Laliberté. Key innovations, such as hollow fiber, are key to reducing latency and meeting the growing demands for AI-driven data flows, making them essential to business scalability.
“Hollow fiber essentially allows organizations to transport more capacity over greater distances with lower latency,” Laliberté said in a segment of analysts during the event. “It seems like this is a technology that everyone is going to implement. Microsoft says, “Hey, this is a great application for these back-end AI data centers,” and not just within the data center, but between data centers and being able to extend that.
As enterprises adopt multi-cloud strategies, seamless integration and operational efficiency have become priorities, according to Kambiz AghiliVice President of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure at Oracle Corp. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure addresses these needs by providing redundancy and interoperability across clouds, allowing businesses to access Oracle and non-Oracle data states wherever needed.
“Customers want access to Oracle and non-Oracle data states wherever they need it, and alongside each other, they want to be able to create new applications that benefit them,” Aghili told CUBE. during the event. “They want to be able to use relational data, non-relational machine learning graphs, text spatial operations next to each other with the same (structured query language and) REST API that they are used to.”
OCI simplifies AI deployment and supports multi-cloud AI strategies with integration capabilities, 24/7 availability, and comprehensive data governance. According to Aghili, eliminating complexities such as patching and maintenance helps businesses scale efficiently while ensuring compliance.
“Customers don’t want to deal with patching and maintenance to move from one release to another,” he said. “So making these services online – from online security to patching – for customers who really need 24/7 availability, when you couple that with data governance and compliance that they really need us to meet on their behalf, making this absolutely, a check box has been very successful and well received by customers today.
