NVIDIA updates its AI G-Assist assistant on Windows to take it beyond optimizing game and system settings. G-Assist originally launched last month As a chatbot, mainly focused on improving PC games, but it now gets plugin support so that you can extend the AI assistant to control Spotify, check if a streamer is live on Twitch and watch updates in stock or weather.
The new chatgpt based on G-Assist Plugin Builder Allows developers and enthusiasts to create personalized features for the AI assistant in Nvidia. G-Assiste can connect to external tools and use APIs to extend the capacities of what Nvidia currently offers.
These plugins all run locally using a small language model on NVIDIA RTX GPUs, and developers will also be able to share their own personalized plugins via Github. G-Assist uses a local model in small language which requires almost 10 GB of space for assistant functions and vocal capacities. The AI assistant works on a variety of RTX 30, 40 and 50 office GPU, but you will need a card with at least 12 GB of VRAM.
