In victory for the open source community of NVIDIA, the company recently announced that it manufactured its source code accelerated by the GPU Physx and Flow.
NVIDIA previously manufactured The open source of the SDK Physx But the source code of the GPU simulation core was not included in this old effort. But now it changes for the best.
The engineer Nvidia Adam Moravanszky recently announcement On GitHub:
“Since the release of Physx SDK 4.0 In December 2018, Nvidia Physx is available in open source under the BSD -3 license – with a key exception: the source code of the GPU simulation core has not been included.
It changes today.
We are delighted to share that the latest update of the SDK Physx now includes all the GPU source code, entirely under license under BSD-3!
With more than 500 CUDA nuclei supply characteristics such as the dynamics of the rigid body, the simulation of fluids and deformable objects, GPU Physx represents one of the use of the most advanced real -time simulation of CUDA and GPU programming. We hope that this version will be a precious resource for learning, experimentation and development through the community.
In addition, we are also open to the complete implementation of the GPU calculation shader of the Flow SDK, our fluid simulation library based on a real -time and sparse gate.
We can’t wait to see what you are building with it. Explore, experience – and do not hesitate to publish problems or comments here on Github! “”
A very pleasant and exciting open source milestone from Nvidia! Bravo to them for having opened this code.
