
Kolkata: The Council for the examination of Indian school certificates has written in affiliated schools describing teachers’ recruitment guidelines for two matters of the new age, artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, which it will introduce from of this academic session.
These materials will be additional options available for students in the IX and X classes and will appear in ICSE 2025.
The recruited people are required to have a B.Tech, M.SC or B.SC in computer science or a diploma in mechanical engineering, indicates that the opinion sent by Cisce Director General and Secretary Gerry Arathoon in schools. It also details the necessary upgrades in computer laboratories to meet the educational requirements.
Schools that plan to introduce the two subjects will have to upgrade their computer laboratories to accommodate at least 30 students at the same time and install office PCs with Python and Tinkercard software, 10 single card computers and 10 sets of robotic components such as Servro Motors, wires, sensors, batteries and LEDs.

The CISCE has already prepared the program for the two new subjects – artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics – which must be introduced in the IX class from this academic session and downloaded it to its website.
St Augustine’s day school, Shyamnagar, director Rodney Borney said that the two subjects were contemporary and said that it expects several students to opt for them. “Studying subjects like AI and robotics should be exciting for students,” he said.
The director of the Rammohan Mission School, Sujoy Biswas, said that by presenting these matters in class IX, the council assured that it remained in advance on the curve. “These are futuristic materials and are the need for the time. Students will be very excited because they want to learn new things,” he said.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) presented AI as an option in class IX of the 2019-2020 session, and the IA and the Internet of Things (IoT) in classes VI at X as a project pilot in 2022.
The Western Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education introduced AI and data science in classes XI and XII of this academic session and the first lot will pass the HS exams in 2025.
