The robots do it themselves
A central concept of robotics is autonomy: autonomous cars with autonomous drones and care robots – using sensors and advanced control technology based on automatic learning, robots can today react to situations and act accordingly. What does this mean for human autonomy?
Are we faced with a future in which a cleaning robot will serve our breakfast, we call our car via vocal control and let us be pushed to work just to monitor other robots there? In hospitals and nursing homes, robots are already preparing medication or supporting nursing activities. Thanks to their abilities, they can also contribute to the inclusion of disabled people.
