The Stargate project, an AI initiative announced by Former President Trump in January should require 64,000 Nvidia (Nasdaq: NVDA) GB 200 GPUS by 2026, Bloomberg reported.
The project, led by Openai, Oracle (NYSE: Orcl), and SoftBank (Sftby), will receive an initial lot of 16,000 GPU by this summer, the rest arriving before next year, added the report, citing a familiar source with details. GPU’s request would be for a single data center and a single customer, highlighting the extent of the initiative. OPENAI, SOFTBANK, Oracle and NVIDIA did not immediately comment on the report.
The Stargate project, supported by Microsoft (Nasdaq: Msft) and the arm (Nasdaq: arms), aims to deploy $ 100 billion initially, with a total investment of $ 500 billion over four years. The first data center build has started in Texas, with up to 10 sites planned in the United States
