The founder of the Alibaba group, Jack MA, delivered a rare discourse to the company’s cloud unit on Thursday, exposing his ideas and his vision of responsible artificial intelligence and man -oriented (AI), while the technology giant pivoted to become Chinese AI facilitator.
MA, 60, made a surprise visit to the Alibaba Cloud campus in Hangzhou on Thursday, bearing an employee badge, to show his support for the unit. According to a transcription published by his speech delivered by Alibaba, MA returned to the house the message that the ultimate goal of AI is to help people live a better and more significant life.
MA, who remains the spiritual leader of the business empire he created 26 years ago, told employees during a ceremony launching a new exercise that the aim of technology like AI was not to conquer “galaxies and oceans”, a poetic sentence in China referring to high objectives and ambitions, but to the “smoke and the fire of a deadly world”.
