(The author’s note: this is the second in a multi -set series based on our Futuriom 50 research series on promising startups of cloud technology. The first part is there.)
You may have read the news of a slowdown in companies and potential layoffs. This has given technological managers reasons to deeply assess their future cloud strategy and will probably indicate them more and more towards hybrid and multicaloud infrastructures.
Why hybrid and multicloud? In our discussions with cloud technologists, they say they want a cloud infrastructure that can more effectively manage and integrate the myriad of applications, data and infrastructure in the cloud, including their own infrastructure. They also want to regain control, rather than put all the keys to the giants of the public cloud.
Hybrid and multicloud technologies are also perfect trends for the current environment, as they aim to develop better operational efficiency in technological infrastructure. This is something that Mark Zuckerberg spoke yesterday when the Meta gains call. Look for this to evolve in 2023.

Many startups in this field offer a direct return on investment (King) by offering more effective operating means in a slowdown that calls on technology managers and financial directors (financial directors). Let us dive into individual trends and some young companies promising to monitor in a hybrid and multicloud infrastructure, as identified in our recent Futuriom report 50.
More clouds means a hybrid infrastructure
The first stop: Cloud network. If you want to summarize it, no more cloud means a hybrid and multicloud infrastructure. As data from our Multicloud Networking (MCN) survey in 2022 shows, most people interviewed (63%) now use 2-3 Cloud services, with 17% using more than three. In addition, 87% of the 102 editor directors and networking directors interviewed see MCN Investment over the next 1 to 5 years.
87% of survey networking managers expect to invest in MCN solutions over the next 1 to 5 years. N = 102
To connect all these clouds, you need MCN. Cloud suppliers themselves have built huge amounts of infrastructure that can be used to expand on the globe, but you can also connect a private data center, branches or applications executed on the infrastructure of partners.
A wide range of MCN tools emerges to help managers create dynamic networks connecting both private and public cloud infrastructure, in particular by taking advantage of their traditional installed infrastructure. As a rule, MCN solutions use network abstraction and overlapping to link public and private cloud networking infrastructure.
Some startups to watch in the MCN areA:
MCN Pioneer Aviatrix offers a networking platform designed to help managers build and manage multicloud and hybrid cloud networks in one place, in particular by helping visibility, compliance and safety. Aviatrix has raised $ 340 million to an assessment of several billion dollars.
Prosimo focuses on multicloud networking at the application level, providing tools designed to connect cloud networks and workloads with zero-frust safety and better operational visibility. The co -founder and CEO, Ramesh Prabagaran, is a veteran of the networking industry with experience at Cisco, Viptela and Juniper Networks.
Graphiant seeks to solve the headache to maintain security and quality of service for applications with a “kernel without state” which moves the networking control to cutting -edge software.
Cloud network
There is also a lot of innovation in networks and operations based on the cloud. Drivenets built the first native megascal networking platform for the telecommunications industry, which can also perform analysis and monitoring functions using a scale architecture based on white boxes. The co -founder and CEO Ido Susan has history of innovation in the communications industry, and the company has raised nearly $ 600 million, making it a promising promising candidate (IPO).
Arcus provides open networking solutions for 5G, EDGE and Access networks with a latency and a very scalable and ultra-track network of network and operator level. Founded by an experienced team from Cisco and Broadcom and led by the former VMware SHEKAR AYYAR, Arcus executive promises to reduce the cost of large-scale multi-chop networking.
The open networking movement, which started in the public cloud, moves to the company market on site to allow a hybrid infrastructure and private cloud networks. Aviz Networks is developing a full suite to manage and orchestrate open networks using Sonic, focusing on orchestration and visibility. The Aviz team has decades of experience in the fields of networking and application and comes from Nvidia, AWS, Cisco, F5 and Linkedin.
Hedgehog is building an automation and networking battery for Sonic and Kubernetes environments, focusing on better ease of use in the native world of cloud with an open source networking platform.
Netdevops for the hybrid cloud
As you can see, there is a lot of innovation in progress in networking for the multicloud and hybrid cloud. This will require better management and better integration with a myriad of cloud platforms and applications.
Another key trend in the cloud is the approach to infrastructure as a code (IAC), which allows the infrastructure to be scheduled and automated with code and orchestration programmed in applications. We believe that this trend will be integrated into NetDevops to use monitoring and analysis to generate more automation in cloud infrastructure.
Several of the companies in the Netdevops surveillance and analysis space include Kentik and Netbrain. Kentik unifies application data, users and customers with real -time network traffic. The objective is to link each event or network analysis to something that matters – income and costs, customer and user experience, performance and risks. The Netbrain Problem Diagnostic Automation System (PDAS) is a multivalers-free network operations platform without code designed to treat the cost of operations of DAY 2 on a large scale.
Identity, another interesting private enterprise to monitor, has built a series of low code automation tools and without code to help managers operationalize configuration and complex network orchestration tasks using a IAC approach. The mixture of data with usable management of networking also increases and will be part of the netdevops movement.
Manage code and API in a multicloud world
Modern hybrid and multicloud infrastructure means more application programming interfaces (API) as well as the need for better code management in general. The code and APIs must be managed and secure. There are several intriguing private companies in this space with the IPO potential.
Kong provides an API native cloud platform designed to help create better ways to manage and connect with APIs. WIB, led by the veteran entrepreneur Gil Don, aims to be the most complete API security platform in the world, providing detailed API inventories and security management.
Engflow tools help developers work more effectively by providing a platform to manage and share code for builds and tests. Another interesting company in the code management space is Sonarsource, which provides a DevOps platform designed to examine and analyze the code to ensure that it is clean and secure.
Sase reaches the hand in the cloud
The trend towards hybrid and multicloud will also stimulate more activity in large-region networking areas (SD-WAN) defined by the secure access service (SDE) and software defined. These technologies have started to automate and secure the EDGE Enterprise networking platforms, but can now become tools for multicloud and hybrid connectivity. Many companies in this space that Futuriom have followed over the years have already been acquired (CloudGenix, Silver Peak, Viptela and Vellocloud), but the remaining managers have become solid independent companies with an IPO potential.
Aryaka Networks provides SD-WAN and SASE services managed with ZERO-CUST safety features, including private layer 2 and layer 3 networks for medium connectivity.
Cato Networks provides global connectivity to a private network of 65 points of presence (POP) with a complete security suite, routing and service level agreements.
Versa Networks provides a platform and an SD-WAN platform for artificial learning / learning machine (AI / ML) with real multittenation and sophisticated analyzes via the cloud, on the premises infrastructure, or a mixed combination of two. He also recently focused on solutions to activate MCN.
As you can see, there is a wide range of interesting companies covering many aspects of multicaloud and hybrid cloud infrastructures. We will continue this series next week to talk about startups in the unified cloud safety space.
