The recent rise in power of the assistant of Chinese artificial intelligence Deepseek has become a reason for the tripping of the American stock market with technological actions. Donald Trump’s administration wants the United States to become powerful in AI, but its aspiration and its IA dream seem to be linked to immigrants.
The previous rule of Trump was a nightmare for many immigrants due to strict immigration policies leading to refusal of visa of employees and students among others. According to a recent study, a majority of the American workforce of artificial intelligence has been founded or co-founded by immigrants.
Immigrants have founded or co-founded almost two thirds of the best IA companies in the United States and 70% of full-time graduate students in the fields related to AI are international students. Another report indicates, between 40% and 60% of master’s degrees linked to AI have been awarded to non -American citizens in the past 5 years. For the doctorate, this share was greater than 59% in 2022.
Due to the obstacles to immigration, graduates of American institutions move without contributing to the American workforce. Economists believe that the best immigration system would facilitate the conservation of talents.
“It is the United States policy to support and improve the world domination of America’s AI in order to promote human development, economic competitiveness and national security,” said the presidential decree.
