SBS Commander Vadym Sukharevskyi reported on how a possible halt to Western aid will affect the UAV production sector in Ukraine.
«In fact, unmanned systems, drones are our currency for the future, at the first post-war step. I think that no one in the world has such experience as we have, and such technologies too. I believe that we will have enough wisdom to use this to our advantage in the future,» Vadym Sukharevsky told Radio Liberty’s Donbass Realities project.
The SBS commander noted that the technologies provided to Ukraine by Western allies are strategically important for the production of UAVs.
«Complementary technologies, working with our allies is the path of our progress. But it is also the path of their progress,» Sukharevskiy said.
He did not name the percentages of how much we depend or do not depend on these components. «But there is a small range of equipment that at this stage our manufacturers are not yet able to produce independently, due to cost or some advanced technologies. But I know for sure that such work is underway,» the SBS commander added.
