The AI evolves so quickly that it is doubtful that one of us can pretend realistically to be fully prepared for the next step. In the past two weeks, Openai has published GPT -4O Generation – once again offered for free – has designed to revolutionize the way we create and interact with visual content.
Google has also unveiled Gemini 2.5 Pro, now with integrated chain reasoning activated with a simple rocking. According to Google, post-training improvements have strengthened its performance beyond the basic model, a complaint supported by industry expert observations.
For example, Professor Ethan Mollick wrote that it “seems to be really more capable than any other model of published AI, including other great reasoners”. He added that he demonstrates a significant leap in understanding complex queries and the supply of precise and nuanced responses – pointing with high scores in some of the most difficult tests designed for AI models today.
Too fast
In the real world, asymmetrical and rapidly evolving capacities of AI mean that the jobs it touches change quickly, each new version triggering impact waves – which, like the generation of GPT -4O images, is often exciting, sometimes disturbing.
In the end, these improvements fill the gap in tasks which were once the only area of humans. The niche roles are redefined or absorbed, and many other tasks which once seemed out of reach for the machines are now at a time of strike. While this trend continues, it is probably only a matter of time before real jobs were lost against AI.
AI inviting skills will probably not remain precious either, because each new generation of models improves. Incitation becomes less important than in previous versions. Reasoning models now better understand the context and the nuances and can deduce intention without requiring specific instructions.
Ai as a first choice
CEO of Shopify Tobi Lütke said Employees of a memo this week that the company will not engage at unless it is clear that AI cannot do the work instead. The decision reflects an increasing trend: AI’s capacities become essential, and non-optional, in today’s workforce.
The memo said that the effective use of AI is now “a fundamental expectation of everyone at Shopify”. Lütke urged employees to experiment with technology, develop new skills and share information with colleagues, aimed at using second nature AI through the company.
“It is a tool of all trades today, and will only develop in importance. Frankly, I do not think that it is possible to withdraw from learning the competence of the application of AI in your profession; You are welcome, but I want to be honest – I can’t see that working today, and certainly not tomorrow. Stagnation is almost certain, and stagnation is a slowdown failure. If you are not going, you slip, stagnation is almost certain, and he said.
Lütke is not the only CEO to promote the adoption of AI at the workplace. Of course, although AI can improve productivity, these tools are always subject to errors, even when they have given explicit instructions, and often do not have the human touch required for certain tasks.
