Willow users, meet Ema: you’re your new AI best friend.
Founded in Houston Emma (née SocialMama), an AI resource for maternal health support, has been uploaded to the Willow Innovations Inc. appa platform for breastfeeding mothers.
“We are excited to integrate our conversational AI platform into the Willow app and harness the power of cutting-edge technology to meet women where they are with the information they need,” said Amanda Ducach, founder of Ema, in a press release. “Ema and Willow have a shared mission: to bring lasting improvements to women’s health and we have created a one-of-a-kind solution that addresses the unique challenges mothers regularly face.
“Our partnership represents a crucial step forward for today’s mothers and demonstrates how responsible AI can improve the experience of maternal care,” she continues.
Now, app users can use Ema’s secure HIPPA tool which pulls a comprehensive and proprietary database of expert-backed information. The conversational AI chatbot responds by prioritizing speed, accuracy, empathy, and compassion for users. Ema reports that its users “will feel like they’re talking with their favorite postpartum (labor and delivery) nurse.”
“New mothers don’t get enough support – for their food and parenting journey, or for their postpartum care. We’re excited to partner with Ema to provide moms with personalized information throughout this journey,” adds Sarah O’Leary, CEO of Willow. . “AI tools, when implemented thoughtfully, can help fill the gap in providing personalized advice at an effective scale and I am excited about the impact Ema can have on the well-being of mothers in our Willow community.
Founded in 2018 with the aim of connecting new moms, Ema evolved last year with a major rebrand and a shift to AI-powered tools.
Willow launched in 2014 and launched the first wearable in-bra breast pump in 2017.
