Introduction to curvilinear concepts:
In the Curvilinear Concepts workshop, students will learn to create architectural forms curvilinear similar to those designed by Mad MAD architects and ZAHA Hadid architects (for reference only). We will use generative artificial intelligence to create these forms, then use a 3D modeling tool to create a single geometry. We will provoke crafts using Midjourney V6 or less to develop concept concepts of sophisticated and complex buildings. Thanks to an iterative process, we will achieve our desired results, which can be very iterative for specific results. Examples of projects on which we will work include a high density housing complex, a Google campus, etc.
The scope of the workshop:
The Curvilinear Concepts workshop aims to use Midjourney to create fluid or curvilinear forms ranging from the scale of individual products to whole cities. Once we have generated the desired form, we will reproduce or modify it using programs such as Autodesk Maya, Rhinoceros and Grasshopper. Finally, depending on the size of the product, we will make the design using Enscape or Keyshot. Throughout the process, we will make sure that our geometry is clean, easy to handle and adapted to 3D printing.
Methodology:
- During the Curvilinear Concepts workshop, students will receive a general tutorial on quick manufacturing for Midjourney, then will have time to generate attractive, complex and sophisticated forms for Midjourney, most likely a large -scale architectural project. Each student can focus on the development of different parts of the project, such as the facade, interiors, furniture, lighting, textures, etc.
- Participants will then receive a basic introduction to Mayans and rhinos initially to understand the tool with a specific form, procedural 3D modeling from a primitive polygon or using rhinos / bladere to generate the shape.
- After that, the exercise will be combinator, using the form generated and by replying it / modification on the 3D modeling tool.
- Students will also receive a basic tutorial on rendering their images using Enscape or Keyshot.
Objectives of curvilinear concepts:
Participants will be able to produce the following:
- Intelligently crack the prompts and generate high -quality images via Midjourney.
- Extrapolate the geometry of the images generated and translate this into a 3D model in a creative way.
- Rendered from their models with scale figures.
Software:
- Midjourney 6.0 access
- Autodesk Maya 2020 and upper versions
- Rhinoceros 7 with a grasshopper plugin / lunch box
- Plugin Plugin for Rhinoceros (rendered in real time)
- Luxion Keyshot
System requirements:
- 16 gigabytes ram and upwards.
- 1060 integrated graphics 6 GB and upwards.
Workshop program:
Day 1
- Introduction to the workshop, students presentations, Midjourney bases
- Rapid manufacturing and generation
- Midjourney experiment (individual group tutorials at the same time)
- Midjourney’s final outings (presentations from each team)
- Q&R
Day 2
- Maya tutorial (form generation and comprehension of the basic user interface)
- Rhino / Grasshopper tutorial (form generation and basic understanding)
- Introduction in Enscape or Keyshot
- Team support and discussion of the team

Important notes::
- The studio workshop “Curvilinear Concepts AI Innovation To 3D” by Pacademy will start on Saturday May 18 and 19, 2024, at 4:00 pm (GMT).
- Total sessions: 2 sessions
- The teaching time per session will be 4 to 5 hours.
- Students will have time to take a break between teaching hours.
- Each session and the whole studio will be recorded, and videos will be available for participants one day after the course for unlimited time.
- Pacademy will provide a certificate of attendance.
Curvilinear concept instructor:
Prabhat Arora
Prabhat Arora Is designer of architecture at Zaha Hadid Architects and holds a master’s degree in architecture and town planning of the design laboratory for the design of the Association of Architecture: Schumacher Studio. For his master’s thesis, he explored parametric semiology based on agents. Prabhat designed and built its first architectural project at 22 at Iit Madras. His interests reside in parametricism, modeling complex geometry, 3D printing and semiotics. Prabhat has developed high -end projects using Unity, Maya, Grasshopper, Keyshot and Enscape at Zaha Hadid Architects.
