Position Overview:
The faculty member will be responsible for teaching a range of courses while contributing to curriculum development, student advising, and the overall academic mission of the department. This role also involves engagement in research and academic writing, as well as participation in faculty governance and administrative tasks.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Teach classes.
- Prepare the course curriculum, plan lessons and homework.
- Evaluate student progress by grading assignments, papers, exams and other work.
- Advise students on which courses to take and how to achieve their goals.
- Work with colleagues to develop or modify the curriculum for a degree or certificate program involving a series of courses.
- Stay informed about changes and innovations in their field.
- Surveillance exams.
- Attend faculty meetings
- The general administration works in relation to the quality assurance of teaching and assessments.
- Carry out internal moderation of the course.
- Actively participate in academic and ad hoc committees
- Actively participate in the dynamic life of the college and university
- Writing research proposals, articles and other publications.
- Project/thesis supervision for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Any other tasks reasonably required by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a doctorate in a related field, from a recognized institution.
- PhD in a related field (computer engineering, cybersecurity, data science and artificial intelligence “AI”) delivered by an institution recognized for teaching postgraduate programs.
Required skills and competencies:
- Strong communication and relationship building skills with peers, leaders and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience using LMS (preferred).
