About
Aravind Srinivas grew up in Chennai, studied at IIT Madras and earned a PhD at UC Berkeley, with research stints at OpenAI, Google and DeepMind. He co-founded Perplexity in 2022 to replace lists of links with cited answers. Its annualized revenue reached about $500 million in April 2026 after the launch of its AI agent products.
Srinivas is one of the most direct challengers to Google Search and a prominent voice from India's AI diaspora.
