About
Robin Li co-founded Baidu in 2000 and has led it since. Baidu was among the first Chinese companies to invest heavily in AI, launching the Apollo self-driving program in 2017 and the Ernie Bot chatbot in March 2023. Its Ernie 5.0 model launched in full in January 2026.
Li is one of China's most prominent AI executives and argues that AI's value lies in applications such as agents and robotaxis, not in model rankings.
