Do you support Yoshua Bengio's overall direction for AI?
The trend line appears after a few days of voting.
Yoshua Bengio is one of the most cited computer scientists in the world and shared the 2018 Turing Award for deep learning. He founded Mila, the Quebec AI institute, and chairs the International AI Safety Report commissioned by governments. In 2025 he launched LawZero, a nonprofit building 'Scientist AI': non-agentic systems meant to understand the world without pursuing goals of their own. In September 2026 Canada and Germany committed up to CAD 300 million to it.
Bengio is the most prominent scientist calling for strict guardrails on autonomous AI agents, and argues AI developers should be held to the standards of other high-risk industries.
