Google DeepMind is Alphabet's AI research and product lab, formed in 2023 by merging DeepMind (founded in London in 2010) with Google Brain. It built AlphaGo and AlphaFold, which won a share of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, and develops the Gemini models that power Google's products. On 30 September 2026 it announced Gemini 4 Argon, its new frontier model.
