Do you support Demis Hassabis's overall direction for AI?
The trend line appears after a few days of voting.
A former chess prodigy and video-game designer, Demis Hassabis co-founded DeepMind in 2010; Google acquired it in 2014. His teams built AlphaGo, which beat world champion Lee Sedol in 2016, and AlphaFold, which predicted the structures of almost all known proteins and earned him a share of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Since 2023 he has led Google DeepMind, the unit behind Gemini.
Hassabis describes AGI as potentially the most beneficial technology in history, above all as a tool for science, and has called for international cooperation on its risks.
Estimated AI ideology
Based on Hassabis's science-first vision of AGI, his calls for international coordination and careful, expert-led handling of advanced AI, and Google DeepMind's controlled-access approach to its most capable models.
